Nosara Animal Care has developed a sustainable community outreach program that educates and provides veterinary and financial assistance, when necessary, to individuals and families who are struggling to adequately care for their animals. We have found, of the owned animals that we are engaged with, there are very few that are unloved or unwanted. Most often, it is a lack of resources that has prevented the animal from receiving the care they have needed.
Our outreach staff and volunteers work directly with the owners of the animals and our veterinary partners to treat sick animals and make sure the animals are receiving the care and medication that they require.
In addition, the outreach team organizes transportation of sick animals to and from the veterinarian appointments and provides food donations as needed.
When care support from NAC is not enough, or an animal is homeless or severely neglected/abused, we are obliged to try to rescue the animal and find them a temporary or permanent home where they can receive the care and love that they require. NAC does not have a shelter facility, so we rely wholly on volunteer support to provide foster homes for the animals we remove from unfortunate circumstances until a permanent home can be found.
NAC has supported thousands of animals over the years, and we are often privy to very tragic stories. So, when there are heartwarming resolutions, we are elated. It’s only through donor and volunteer support that we can bring you these incredible transformations.
